Principal Peerman was honored at the 2019 FCPS Special Education Conference with the First Class Award for an administrator. First-Class Awards are presented to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to inclusive practices in Fairfax County Public Schools.

Ms. Peerman was selected for her work to promote inclusiveness at Halley Elementary School. She conducted extensive training for staff in inclusive practices. Through the training provided, Halley is focused on providing inclusive experiences for children with and without disabilities and their families to create a sense of belonging and membership, positive social relationships and friendships, and development and learning to reach their full potential.
